NEW YORK CITY, NY, July 20^th, 2005 – Midtown Manhattan’s historic Buckingham Hotel, home away from home to generations of musicians, will honor the music of the King of Gypsy Swing, Django Reinhardt, with a free preview atop the propriety’s Martinelli Penthouse on July 26^th at 11 am with sweeping views of Central Park and Midtown Manhattan as a backdrop. 

An acoustic preview of Reinhardt’s music will be performed by the stars of The Sprit of Django Reinhardt Concert, as they prepare for the big concert the following day at the nearby Lincoln Center’s, Alice Tully Hall for the third year, produced by Pat Philips and Ettore Stratta.

Hot Jazz legends such as legendary gypsy guitarist Angelo Debarre, virtuoso violinist Florin Niculescu, accordion whiz from Paris Ludovic Beier, young gypsy star Samson Schmitt and guitar wizard Joscho Stephan from Germany will  “jam” at the Buckingham Hotel’s Martinelli Penthouse for your preview pleasure, in Reinhardt’s memory.  The Buckingham extends this rare offer to the public for this intimate preview on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Buckingham Hotel, which was recently redesigned with a musical theme, has been the host to musicians performing at the neighboring Carnegie Hall, and nearby Lincoln Center, for generations.  Located just next to Central Park at 101 57^th Street between 6^th and 7^th Avenues, the Buckingham is easily accessible by the subways A, B, C, D, E, F, N, R, Q, W, 1 and 9.
